Local Missions

Advance Community is devoted to making a difference in the region we call home. The problems of lack of food, addictions, divorce, broken homes, rebellious teens, debt, and aimless living plague our region. We want to be intentional in combating these trends. This will be an ongoing priority of our DNA.

Individuals and Community Groups regularly serve by:
  • Assisting local churches in our region as they help our communities
  • Raising awareness regarding the persecuted church (within the states and around the world)
  • Building relationships with widows, single parents, the elderly, and those who are enduring difficult times within our region. These friendships lead to great opportunities of tangible service and gospel-centered intentionality.
Pittsburgh Food Share -- Give & Receive Bins
Pittsburgh Food Share Network is a group that connects 'people with resources' to 'people in need.' Amanda Kuehmichel runs the Give and Receive bins. Amanda noticed the biggest problem was not the availability of food, but the transportation needed to pick it up. So, she started collecting the donations and delivering them to families in need.

Amanda's Goal is to show the love of God by being the hands and feet of Christ to people in need in the Pittsburgh area. The ultimate goal is to grow in relationship, build trust, and share the Gospel.

Ways to Help
1. Collect donations of food, household items such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc, health and beauty items such as body wash, shampoo, etc, and baby items such as diapers, wipes, etc.
2. Help fill baskets for Thanksgiving.
3. Purchase items to be used in Christmas stockings to be given to the kids in the families we work with.
4. Help with deliveries.
5. Donate gift cards to be used for purchasing fresh produce, meats, Christmas gifts, etc. Suggested places: Walmart, Amazon, Giant Eagle, Fresh Thyme, Costco, Target, Shop N Save
