Advance Institute

For equipping and training people for the work of ministry

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
Ephesians 4:11-13

What is Advance Institute?

Advance Institute primarily provides Bible-based theological training courses designed to connect the head to both the heart and the hands. Specific Institute courses consist of a 7-week study period and utilize curriculum from Porterbrook Learning, a suite of courses provided by Acts 29. The aim of both the Institute and Porterbrook is to equip men, women, and teens for the work of ministry and to train leaders within the church. The curriculum used in the Institute is accessible and requires no previous training.
Advance Institute is designed to bring a quality and engaging learning environment to Christians in our region for minimal expense. In addition to the seven-week courses, the Institute also hosts workshops and forums. Past opportunities include the women's workshop How to Study the Bible and a study of Christ-Centered Parenting

Current Course: Shaping Advance's Culture
(October 4 - November 23)

Shaping Advance's Culture will examine the why and how of Advance's future gospel ministry based upon the following principles:
  • The Word of God is to be central to discipleship and ministry.
  • The local church is the primary context for discipleship and ministry.
  • Change happens by grace through faith.
  • Mission should shape everything we do as Christians and churches.
Other than Scripture, the primary curriculum for this course is Philosophy of Ministry produced by Crosslands and Jared Wilson's The Gospel-Driven Church.
